Kompot (Fruit Punch) is a beverage made from fruit simmered with water and sugar. It was served at every school cafeteria since we didn’t have any boxed fruit juices or soft drinks available. Now I understand how lucky I was! These days I make kompot for my son and sometimes he helps me since there is no real measurements.
Just mix all the ingredient and let it simmer. Dry apricots, apples, raisins, and figs add sweetness. Cherries, rosehips and cranberries bring the tart flavor. To spice things up throw a cinnamon stick, anise star or some cloves. I think adult version can have a little brandy in it.
